Creating Intricate Inlays with CNC

  • Sam Beauford Woodshop 1375 N Main St Adrian, MI, 49221 United States (map)

Nicholas DePlonty is the owner of a small woodworking business called "Castle of Wood, LLC” in Sault Sainte Marie, MI. He has a full time position outside of his wood shop, but spending time building furniture and small woodcrafts really helps him decompress after a long day at the office and helps him express himself through functional works of art. He started to get into woodworking while in middle school. He was very lucky to attend a school system that had a thriving trades program. Nick’s passion for woodworking only grew stronger while in high school, and continued even after his graduation in 2012. He comes from a long line of blue collar workers who had a knack for working with their hands, so it is only fitting that he continued that legacy. His woodworking ranges from small woodcrafts such as butcher blocks, magnetic knife blocks, small artwork pieces, and shelving, to larger pieces such as conference tables, dinner tables, cabinets and counter tops. Nick uses a variety of hand tools and power tools, and enjoys using his CNC machine to add intricate touches to his work. Check him out at facebook.com/CastleofWood

Nick is going to provide a demonstration going over intricate inlay work using a CNC machine (Shaper Origin CNC). He will demonstrate this from 2-3pm and 5-6pm each day at his booth. Don’t miss it!
